I'm back with my second card for The Rabbit Hole Designs Halloween release using the adorable Spellcaster Witch. This stamp set also has Coordinating Dies available for purchase if you hate to fussy cut as much as I do! :D I started out my card using two awesome Stencils from The Rabbit Hole Designs on 110 lb white cardstock. I first used the Ribbon Star 6x6 stencil with a Cotton Tail Blender Brush and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink. I then used the Illusion Circle 6x6 stencil oriented in the other direction using the same blender brush and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink. I then cut the panel down to an A2 size (4 1/4 x 5.5). I then got to work on my sentiment. I heat embossed it onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder (I use Lawn Fawn white embossing powder). I then trimmed it into a banner shape.

Next, I worked on the adorable witch and cat from the Spellcaster Witch stamp set. I stamped them using Copic-friendly ink onto the same heavyweight white cardstock. I used my Copic markers to color both images, then used fine-point scissors to fussy cut them out. I trimmed off the mushroom that she is holding for this card. After fussy cutting, I ran a black marker all along the cut edges to conceal any imperfections.

After my images were cut, I added a little glitter to the witch's tights using a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay glitter brush pen and used Glossy Accents on her eyeglass lenses. I glued everything down with liquid glue (I use Nuvo Deluxe adhesive), then adhered my card front to a card base that was cut and scored to A2 size. Thank you so much for joining me today--hope this card inspired you to create your own cute Halloween cards using these adorable witches.

Amy Copeland (@amypeach1978)http://www.blogger.com/profile/04027079084246000139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6817306825712237292.post-20460409084273853762020-07-27T07:00:00.000-07:002020-07-27T07:00:05.455-07:00The Rabbit Hole Designs Guest Designer--Halloween Release

Good morning, everyone! I am thrilled to announce that The Rabbit Hole Designs asked me to guest design for their Halloween 2020 release. This cute stamp set is called Spellcaster Witch and there is also a coordinating die available: Spellcaster Witch Die.

For this release, there are also some awesome giveaways: To celebrate the next three days of release, The Rabbit Hole Designs is giving away two saving vouchers; one to a lucky Instagram Follower and one to a lucky Fan Page follower. Winner will be chosen at random from the comments left on the INSTAGRAM post, and tagging friends, and also from commenting on the Fan Page post. So make sure to head on over to INSTAGRAM and look for the giveaway post @therabbitholedesignsllc and look for the post at The Rabbit Hole Designs Fan Page by 11:59 p.m. PST 07-30-2020. Winner will be announced on The Rabbit Hole Designs blog 07-31-2020.

To start my card, I used the awesome Aim For The Stars Stencil with a Cotton Tail Blender Brush. I used Wilted Violet with a tiny bit of Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink to ink through the stencil onto a piece of heavyweight white cardstock. These Cotton Tail Blender Brushes blend like a dream! After my cardstock was inked, I cut it out with a stitched rectangle die and then lightly inked over my background with Speckled Egg Distress Ink. The purple stars bled a teensy bit, but not enough to bother me and I think it actually kind of adds to the "magic" of the scene. If it would bother you, you can sprinkle clear embossing powder on the stars and heat set them with your heat tool (as long as you used a pigment-based or hybrid ink like Distress Oxide), then the purple ink would stay put when you blended over it. If you don't have a pigment-based ink, you could also blend with dye ink through the stencil, then blend VersaMark or another clear, sticky ink on top to do your heat embossing.

I stamped my witch with Copic-safe ink onto heavy weight white cardstock, colored her with Copic markers, then fussy cut her out. After fussy cutting, I used a black marker all along the edges to make it look cleaner and like I cut her perfectly. I added Glossy Accents to her glasses and Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Sparkle pen on her tights for a little glitter. I then stamped the spider directly on my background, then stamped him again onto white cardstock, colored him in, and cut his body out and glued it on top of the other spider. I used a Copic multi-liner and a T-ruler to draw in the spider web. I then stamped the cauldron onto the same heavyweight cardstock, Copic colored it, fussy cut it out, used the same black marker to coat the edges, then added the sparkle pen and glossy accents onto select areas. I used a small patterned paper strip for my "ground," then adhered everything with foam squares. The final touch was heat embossing the sentiment, cutting it out into a strip, popping it up onto foam squares, and then adhering a scattering of hole-less sequins throughout the stars with liquid glue. I like how the card looks clean-and-simple, yet special at the same time due to the little special touches of glitter and gloss. Thank you so much for joining me today, hope it inspired you to create your own card using the Spellcaster Witch. Head on over to The Rabbit Hole Designs shop and blog for more inspiration.

I had some time to participate in the Lawnfawnatics Color Inspiration challenge today and decided to go with a (mostly) die cut only card--the only stamping is the birds. I'm going to choose a sentiment for the inside of the card once I decide to give it to somebody. :)
My girls and I made two of the Father's Day cards (on the left)--one for my husband and one for their dad, and a birthday card for their dad because his birthday was a few days after Father's Day. I pretty much used the same design for the Reveal Wheel Father's Day cards that I used for the card I made for my friend and coworker a couple weeks ago. Nobody does interactive dies like Lawn Fawn--they are so impressive and don't take too terribly long to make. The "gravel" in the fish bowl was kind of covering up a mistake, but I ended up liking it a lot--I mounted the wheel just a teensy bit too high, apparently, and the very tip of the brad prongs was showing up in the fish bowl as you turned the wheel.
Very early in our relationship, my husband mentioned something about how cool it was that we "go together like peas & carrots," (from the movie Forrest Gump). I just got the Stitched Garden Border die, so I had to make him a Peas & Carrots card with the Reveal Wheel. :)
I had some time to craft yesterday, so I spent a million years inlaying the "tiles" into the Fancy Lattice Backdrop. :D I was originally only going to do it to the top half of the panel, but then decided to finish it up, cut it in half when I was finished, and now I have enough for two cards. I love the way this card turned out!
This is another one that I somehow forgot to upload here. About a month ago, I was playing around with some Transfer Gel and Deco Foil and made a few backgrounds with Simon Says Stamp stencils. I thought the rainbow foiling was super fun and wanted to highlight it simply, so I pulled out this little pea set from Lawn Fawn.
I made this a month ago, originally for the SSS Do it With Dimension challenge. I didn't have time to upload/edit the card on Flickr right when I made it, so I waited a few days until I had time--then I had some technical difficulties, then Flickr was down for a couple days. I could have uploaded it for the next challenge (Anything Goes), but time got away from me and I missed that one, too. Anyway, I figure better late than never. :)
I have had the inklings of this card in my head for a while and got a chance after work yesterday to create a cute scene card. :) I like the way it turned out, like the little fox is daydreaming about birthday treats. These die sets are so clever--Lawn Fawn thinks of everything. I used alphabet stamps to stamp the word "treats," because I couldn't find a "treats" word in any of my Lawn Fawn stamp sets (not to say that there aren't any OR that I really don't have one, lol, but I couldn't find it quickly and thought it would be just as easy to use Harolds ABCs.)
Supplies (all by Lawn Fawn, unless otherwise noted):
Stitched Cupcake dies
I Scream, You Scream dies
Stitched Hillside Borders die
Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die
Speech Bubble Border die
Moonstone, Noble Fir, Mermaid, Ballet Slippers, Sugarplum, Guava, Peacock, Paper Bag, Blue Jay, Cilantro, Chocolate Bar, Chili Pepper, and Sunflower card stocks
Vellum
On The Beach stamps and dies (fox)
Harolds ABCs
Reveal Wheel Friends & Family Sentiments stamps
Moonstone, Noble Fir, Mermaid, Ballet Slippers, Guava, Peacock, Doe, Walnut, and Chili Pepper inks (blended onto all of the die cut components (other than the sprinkles) to give some extra dimension
Other: Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb cardstock, Copic markers, Glossy Accents, Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay sparkle brush pen, Black Glaze Pen
I made a couple cards for the Lawnfawnatics pets challenge, but not on purpose! :D I actually messed up both cards, but then came up with a solution to salvage both of them. My original intention was to partially stamp the animals within the masked, ink-blended shapes with tone-on-tone ink, but the first card got a big splotch of green in the orange section. Then when I was re-doing the card, I didn't fully stamp the pig in the red section and it shifted in my stamp positioner, so it wasn't lined up right. I then came up with stamping all of the animals on white cardstock with the coordinating ink, die-cutting them out, and gluing them on top. I like these versions even better! :)
I had to knock out a get well card for my brother-in-law (who had foot surgery--how appropriate is that sentiment?!) and also incorporated "pets" for the Lawnfawnatics challenge. I created my favorite type of card, a scene card. :) I feel like I can't create a card using Lawn Fawn lately without using the Mushroom Border die--it's definitely a favorite!
A couple months ago I was playing around with Transfer Gel and stencils and foil. I made a few backgrounds and after I ran the foil through onto the transfer gel, I had all these beautiful pieces left over with the "negative" space left on the foil sheet. I didn't want these to go to waste, so I ran the foil pieces through my laminator in a plastic pocket to give them stability. For this card, I cut some windows into a piece of Neenah 110 lb cardstock and put the foiled piece behind them, then finished the rest of the card simply with a few die cut hearts, a die cut sentiment, and a stamped sentiment.

I CASEd myself today--I had created a card for the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog approximately a year ago featuring this sentiment and Pretty Pink Posh butterflies. I made several backgrounds with alcohol inks and Yupo paper a couple weeks ago and used the wings from the Lawn Fawn Pop-Up Butterfly die and the Layered Butterflies dies to create my card today.
For this card, I cut a heart window into a piece of Neenah 110 lb cardstock and put the foiled piece behind them, then finished the rest of the card simply with a die cut sentiment and a stamped sentiment.

I woke up thinking about this card today, so I had to make it happen at lunch. :) I fussy cut along the scallops for the rainbow patterned paper, lined it with a thin border of Peacock cardstock, and then used the stitched trails dies to flank either side of the patterned paper element. I ran the patterned paper strip through with the Stitched Rectangle Stackable die as well, to make it match the card base. You probably can't really tell in the photo, but I used one of the Puffy Cloud Border dies to cut a piece of transparency, then ink blended over the Mermaid heart with Mermaid ink for a little bit of extra dimension. I also ink blended the "grass" pieces with Noble Fir ink for a little extra something, and used Manatee ink and Chili Pepper ink to ink blend onto the mushroom stems and caps.

I was originally going to use this background for the first card I made like this the other day, but I didn't like the Peacock Lacy Heart with this background, so I set this one aside and went in another direction with my other card. I didn't want this one to go to waste, so today when I had some time to play I re-created my card with a few tweaks until I was happy with it. :) I just love this entire Lawn Fawn spring release, probably my favorite ever.
I masked off sections of my card with Post-It tape, ink-blended with Lawn Fawn Ink onto the sections, and then popped up the large focal point stamp (by The Stamp Market--Have a Nice Day) with foam tape. I coated the entire sentiment with Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Sparkle pen and embellished all around it with various jewels and sequins by Pretty Pink Posh, Lucy's Cards, Studio Katia.Amy Copeland (@amypeach1978)http://www.blogger.com/profile/04027079084246000139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6817306825712237292.post-50066019638019926952019-06-07T18:57:00.001-07:002019-06-21T16:38:34.841-07:00Lawnfawnatics Sketch Challenge

I had some time this evening after work to participate in the LawnFawnatics Sketch Challenge. I used this cute Llama to make a birthday card. :) I ink blended Peacock ink onto the edges of the blue patterned paper and Noble Fir ink onto the grassy pieces for extra dimension.
